I posted this contest on my blog about giving back to someone who gives to everyone else. Here is the winning essay nominated by Kayla F.

My cousins Rachael and Heath, along with their children Kirklynn and Riley, this past year became foster parents in order to take in a little baby girl by the name of Avery. The agency warned them that adoption wasn’t going to happen. Avery’s mother refused to give up her rights, even from prison. I heard many people, even from our own family, whisper that Rachael shouldn’t get involved…should let it go….that her heart would get broken. Thank goodness she didn’t listen. This child has BLOOMED under the roof of a loving, Christian home. She has become a part of their family and is LOVED. And just recently they have been given a tiny hint of hope that adoption may still be possible. Rachael took the risk of loving a child who might never be hers, and I believe in doing so, she has touched many hearts. I would love to give them a photo of their new family!

Congratulations Rachael and family. Thank you so much to all of those that entered. It was tough judging all of them and I wanted to give everyone a session.

I'm baacck!!!

I'm here, really I am, just not blogging. I'll be back hopefully later this week with some pictures! I love taking pictures and I've loved all the sweet, beautiful families and kiddos I've been able to capture, with many more to come. I love it and praise the Lord for this time. Christmas in July!

July is here, can you believe it? I know most of you haven't even thought about Christmas yet, but to help you remember to book your Christmas session (for cards or annual fall pictures), now is the time to do so. All through the month of July if you book your fall session with me, you will receive a complimentary 8x10 or (2) 5x7 (of the same pose) with your paid session. So don't delay, I fill up pretty quickly for these sessions.

Little Cowpoke and two little beauties...

After a month of seniors, I jumped back into kid photo sessions with this little cutie. I am amazed at how fearless he was with the horses. AMAZING and an amazing little guy.
